What is Industry 4.0 ?

Industry 4.0 revolution was started in Germany with aim of digital transformation in traditional sectors. In easy words, Industry 4.0 is the integration of modern technologies such as :
1. Blockchain
2. IoT (Internet of Things)
3. AI (Artificial Intelligence)
4. Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing)
4. AR/VR (Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality)
5. Cloud computing
6. Robotics
And many more in traditional sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, etc. These industries have very complex processes and operations on a real-time basis and that results in a lot of uncertainties. Above technologies are integrated into the manual processes and operations as it has many advantages such as:
1. Improves the efficiency of the organization (People, process, product)
2. Increases end-to-end visibility and transparency.
3. Real-time floor data and analytics are available of systems
4. Improves the decision-making process
5. Increase the profitability and opens new avenues of business and revenue

The main aim is to reduce manual efforts, frauds, uncertainties and optimize the supply chain management process. Some of the top companies that are already working on the Industry 4.0 revolution are Siemens, Deloitte, Airbus, Schindler, SAP, Honeybell, etc.

It will change the phase and situation of the manufacturing industry in the next 5 years as the manufacturing industry has a lot of complex process with huge capital. Some of the above technology can completely change the working structure of how a factory works.
Each and everything is measured and with the help of data, technology, and analytics things are rectified and improved. It bridges the gap between the physical and digital worlds, allowing for improved cooperation and access across departments, partners, vendors, products, and people.
Industry 4.0 enables business leaders to have a deeper understanding of and control over every element of their operations, as well as to use real-time data to improve productivity, streamline procedures, and accelerate growth.
